The Shakerscope
Many essential medical instruments rely on a mains or battery powered light source connected to an incandescent bulb. Batteries run out, leak and corrode. Bulbs break and burn out. The use of disposables has a financial and environmental cost.

The ShakerScope is a robust kinetically powered light source which is powered by shaking it up and down. It does not require bulbs or batteries, and has a long shelf life.

The ShakerScope can be used in virtually any medical situation where a bright light source is required for a short period of time to inspect body cavities (eg laryngoscope for airway, ophthalmoscope for eyes, otoscope for ears).
